Trek Across the U.S.

We are teachers (Beverly Scott is the life science teacher and Deniece Thompson is a math teacher) at Riddle Jr./Sr. High School in Riddle, Oregon. On April 4, we were excited to be informed that we were awarded a Fund for Teachers Fellowship funded through The Ford Family Foundation for a Trek Across the U.S. including four provinces of Canada (Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick).

This month-long fellowship over the summer will provide us more than 30 experiences with a focus on science and math as well as other environmental, technological, cultural, and historical activities that will benefit our students and community. This excursion begins June 11, and we arrive back July 11. We plan to keep everyone posted and share what we learn during this "trek" with our students and community members.
